After the war (101)
The latest in the European war on terror: making justifying or glorifying terrorism an offence. It's one of the measures proposed by Tony Blair, and Dutch Justice minister Donner is considering similar measures.

My take on it: not a great idea. However distasteful and even harmful the jihad-mongering may be, I don't believe that restricting free speech will be the answer.
Taken to the extreme, this would lead to a ban on the Dutch national anthem (which is, basically, a justification of the armed uprising against the Spanish by William of Orange in the 16th century) and on commemoration of the armed resistance against the Germans in WWII.
Also, the whole thing is bound to be symbolic, since there's a plentiful supply of pro-jihad propaganda from TV channels and websites hosted outside of Europe. The side effect of a ban may be that discussion with the pro-jihadists is stifled, and the pro-jihadists are driven underground. In the long run, that may do more harm than good.
